Dr. Shane Stutzman, Senior Pastor
Dr. Stutzman is originally from Apopka, Florida. He has served Northside since January 2009. He is a graduate of the University of Central Florida and he received his Masters of Divinity and his Doctorate of Ministry from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife Laurie have three children: Nathan, Anna, and Alexis. His Doctoral work was involved in the area of blended families. He authored the book “Does Your Church Connect with Blended Families?” Recently, he has been involved in ministry and evangelism in the Dominican Republic where he has seen many people saved. Dr. Stutzman says, “I am a pastor who loves to be involved in evangelism and missions. I love to see people saved. Mission work re-ignites my fire to minister to people. Discipleship is another key part of the ministry I am involved in. I believe that the church is stronger through small groups and Sunday School. I am not just a preacher, I am a Pastor. I love to be with people.” His motto is DOING WHATEVER IT TAKES TO SHARE JESUS! His favorite scripture passage is Philemon 1:6.
Rev. James Parnell, Associate Pastor
Jim is originally from Pickens, South Carolina. He has been serving Northside since 1994 and in full-time ministry for 26 years. He is a graduate of North Greenville University, Carson Newman College, and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is married to Deryl and they have two children and four grandchildren. Jim has a heart for people to come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. His favorite sport is baseball and his favorite team is the Atlanta Braves. His favorite passage of scripture is Psalm 23.
Elizabeth Murphy, Administrative Assistant
Elizabeth has been Administrative Assistant and Financial Secretary for Northside Baptist Church since 1993. She resides in Norway, South Carolina, with her husband, Charles Murphy. Elizabeth has 3 married children, two granddaughters, and two grandsons. She is an active member of Norway Baptist church and has taught the Adult Sunday School for the past 8 years. Elizabeth has a positive outlook on life and tries to live a life that is pleasing to her Lord Jesus Christ. Her favorite scripture is Matthew 7:7 and Jeremiah 29: 11-13.
Mary Cone, Ministry Assistant
Mary has served Northside as part-time ministry assistant since 1999. She is married to George and they have two children and four grandchildren. Mary's favorite verses from the Bible are Joshua 1:9 and 2 Timothy 1:7. Mary prepares the church bi-monthly newsletter and weekly bulletin.
Joe Thomas, Custodian
Joe has served Northside as custodian for 30 plus years. He is from Orangeburg and he and his wife Helen have 3 children and five grandchildren. Joe is a member of North Orangeburg United Methodist Church. He loves all sports and played football for Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School. Joe is a HUGE Pittsburg Steelers and LA Lakers fan. Joe is faithful and has served God’s people well.
